I got the bright idea that I wanted to use a wider saddle blanks (7/32). I had to drill a series of holes with a drill bit and excavate a la Cumpiano for the first. Never again.
I found this site were you can find all sizes of router bits imaginable. If they don't have it, you can have one custom made. Prices seem decent. I just ordered yesterday so no word on the speed and efficiency of the service yet.

I am using a 1/8 downcut solid carbide Dimar bit in a PC lam trimmer. I have a jig that gives the offset for the slot, plus stops for length, and cut it in multiple passes to ease the side forces on the bit - never more than 1/8 deep at a go. As well, I usually am cutting 5 or 6 bridges at a time. The slot is slightly over the .125, but when I go to my supplier to pick up bone blanks, I caliper them all and take the ones that are at least .128 thick. I always have to sand them a touch to get them in snug.
